Ashley Stelfox is an associate at Baller Stokes & Lide, PC, a national law firm based in Washington, DC that specializes in representing local governments, public power utilities, and other public and private entities in matters involving telecommunications, cable television, high-speed data communications, Internet access, wireless telecommunications, right-of-way management, pole and conduit attachments, and barriers to public-sector provision of communications services or infrastructure.
Ms. Stelfox works closely with Jim Baller and other partners on community broadband and other communications matters. She also serves as General Counsel of the Coalition for Local Internet Choice, an alliance of several hundred organizations and individuals that works to prevent or remove barriers to the ability of local governments to decide the key broadband infrastructure issues that affect their communities. She is a frequent speaker on communications matters and is the co-author of “Economic Development is the Killer App for Local Fiber Networks,” Broadband Communities Magazine (Nov-Dec 2016) and “The Emerging World of Broadband Public-Private Partnerships: A Business Strategy and Legal Guide,” The Benton Foundation (Feb 2016). Before joining the firm, Ms. Stelfox was a Legal Fellow in the United States Department of Homeland Security.
Ms. Stelfox is a 2013 graduate of the American University Washington College of Law, and is only admitted to the bar in the State of Maryland. Ms. Stelfox’s practice is limited to federal communications matters. Application for admission in the District of Columbia filed.
